Russian Checkers (8x8): Rules
Movement and Capture:
- White moves first.
- Pieces move only on dark squares.
- Captures are mandatory if available.
- Forward and backward captures are allowed.
- Kings move and capture diagonally to any square.
- The Turkish strike rule applies (only one opponent's piece can be captured per move).
- Multiple capture options allow for any choice (not necessarily the longest).
- Reaching the opponent's end promotes a piece to a king, which can immediately make king moves if possible.
Draw Conditions:
- A player with three or more kings and checkers versus a single opponent's king cannot avoid capturing for 15 moves (from when force balance is established).
- In all-king positions, no change in force balance (no captures or king promotions) for: 30 moves in 4-5 piece endings, 60 moves in 6-7 piece endings.
- A player with three pieces (kings and/or checkers) versus one opponent's king on the "high road" cannot capture for 5 moves.
- 15 consecutive moves involving only kings, without moving regular pieces or capturing.
- Three or more repetitions of the same board position with the same player's turn.
International Checkers (10x10): Rules
Movement and Capture:
- White moves first.
- Pieces move only on dark squares.
- Captures are mandatory if available.

- Kings move and capture diagonally to any square.
- The Turkish strike rule applies (only one opponent's piece can be captured per move).
- The majority rule applies (capture the maximum number of pieces).
- Capturing pieces reaching the opponent's end remain regular pieces and can continue capturing.
- Reaching the opponent's end promotes a piece to a king, which makes king moves on its next turn.
