Sony even showcased a trailer featuring Palworld characters sporting Horizon Forbidden West-inspired gear.Despite the global rollout, Japanese PlayStation gamers are currently excluded. This delay is directly linked to ongoing legal action involving Nintendo and Pokémon.
Palworld's PS5 Japan Release: An Uncertain Future
Palworld's Japanese Twitter (X) account addressed the situation, confirming the worldwide PS5 release in 68 countries and regions while apologizing to Japanese fans for the indefinite delay. They stated that a release date for Japan remains undetermined.
The reason for the delay is widely believed to be the patent infringement lawsuit filed by Nintendo and Pokémon against developer Pocketpair in Tokyo Court. The lawsuit seeks an injunction and damages, potentially halting Palworld's operations entirely. If the injunction is granted, the game could face removal from the market.
