Transformers: Cancelled Game's Gameplay Surfaces Online
Leaked gameplay footage of the canceled Transformers: Reactivate has re-emerged online. Originally announced in 2022 by Splash Damage in collaboration with Hasbro, the co-op game pitted Autobots and Decepticons against an alien threat, "the Legion." The recently surfaced footage, from a 2020 build, showcases Bumblebee's gameplay, highlighting transformations and combat reminiscent of Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. Despite some unfinished elements, the footage demonstrates a polished game with environmental destruction. A brief, silent cutscene depicts Bumblebee's arrival in a ravaged New York City. While the game's cancellation is disappointing, the leaks offer a glimpse into its potential.
Although several leaks surfaced as early as 2020, the recent resurgence of this footage follows the official cancellation announcement. The developer, Splash Damage, is now focusing on other projects. While players won't experience Transformers: Reactivate, the leaked gameplay provides insight into the ambitious, albeit ultimately unsuccessful, multiplayer title.
