Während eines kürzlichen Livestreams mit seiner Radiosendung Group, Kosokoso Hōsō Kyoku, bestätigte Horii, dass das Square Enix -Entwicklungsteam fleißig an Dragon Quest XII arbeitet. Dieses Update folgt einer Ankündigung im Mai 2024, in der die Verabschiedung von Akira Toriyama (Charakterdesigner) und Koichi Sugiyama (Komponist) und der Abgang des Lead -Produzenten Yu Miyake in die Mobilfunkabteilung von Square Enix und die Abreise des Lead -Produzenten anerkannt werden.
