Since *Fields of Mistria* entered Early Access on Steam, the Deep Woods area has been a point of intrigue for many players, marked yet inaccessible until the game's March 2025 update. Here's your comprehensive guide on how to unlock the Deep Woods and locate Caldarus within this new region.

How To Unlock the Deep Woods in Fields of Mistria

Unlocking the Deep Woods in *Fields of Mistria* involves breaking the Fire Seal and utilizing the newly acquired Dragon's Breath spell to clear the obstructing vines. To start, you'll need to gather four specific items and place them on the Priestess' Fire Seal altar located on Floor 60 of the mines: a Faceted Rock Gem, a Rockroot, an Emerald, and a Sealing Scroll. While the first three can be found between floors 50 and 59, obtaining the Sealing Scroll requires teamwork with Juniper and Balor.

To assist Balor in procuring the Sealing Scroll, you must leave the following items in the bin by his wagon:

• x10 Silver Ingots
• x10 Rubies
• x10 Sapphires
• x10 Emeralds

Once you've met these requirements, speak with Balor again. He'll inform you that the Sealing Scroll will be ready the next day, allowing you to complete your offering.

Typically, breaking magical seals results in parting wisdom from the mines' Priestess, unlocking new biomes. However, this time, the scenario unfolds differently. After your health is depleted, the Priestess urges you to leave before the Sealing Scroll traps you inside. It's at this critical moment that Caldarus, in his human form, appears to rescue you, retreating to his temple in the Deep Woods to regain his strength.

Caldarus then entrusts you with the Dragon's Breath spell, a potent tool to burn through the vines that block the Deep Woods entrance. This spell not only opens up the Deep Woods but also other hidden areas on the map. To use it, select Dragon's Breath from the pause menu and activate it while standing in front of the desired location's entrance, permanently unlocking the area.

How To Find Caldarus

After breaking the Fire Seal, your next destination is Caldarus' temple within the Deep Woods. Located north of the Eastern Road, this area requires the Dragon's Breath spell to access. Caldarus' exact location is marked on your map, similar to other NPCs, in the northeast corner of the Deep Woods.

To reach him, enter the Deep Woods and immediately head right, using your axe to clear a stump blocking your path. Continue north until you arrive at the temple where Caldarus awaits.

Once the Deep Woods are unlocked, you can use the Dragon Statue on your farm for fast travel to this area, visiting Caldarus at a mere cost of 10 Essence. This method is far more efficient than traveling on foot or horseback.

Remember, even when not physically present, you can interact with Caldarus through his statue, maintaining your connection in spirit.
