The nominations for the 97th Academy Awards have been revealed, with Jacques Audiard's Spanish-language crime thriller Emilia Pérez dominating this year's slate with an impressive 13 nominations - setting a new record for foreign language films.

Comedians Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang announced the nominees during a January 23 livestream event on the Oscars YouTube channel. Emilia Pérez made history with its recognition across major categories including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress for Karla Sofía Gascón's groundbreaking performance.

The musical adaptation Wicked and neo-noir drama The Brutalist tied for second place with 10 nominations each, while political thriller Conclave and Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown followed closely with eight nods apiece.
