The Pokémon Trading Card Game (PTCGO) Space Time Smackdown expansion, released January 30th, features a Weavile ex card depicting a disturbing scene that has sparked outrage among players. Specifically, the 2-Star full art card shows a group of Weavile poised to attack an unsuspecting Swinub.

This graphic depiction of predation has generated significant negative feedback online. Reddit posts highlighting the artwork have garnered thousands of upvotes, with comments expressing concern and disappointment over the violent imagery. Many players voiced their disapproval, pleading for the Swinub's safety.


However, some fans offer a hopeful interpretation, pointing to the Mamoswine full art card as a potential happy ending. This card shows Mamoswine protectively looking upwards, seemingly having witnessed the Weavile's ambush. This interpretation provides a degree of solace to those upset by the Weavile card.


Space Time Smackdown, a Diamond and Pearl-themed set, includes 207 cards, featuring Pokémon like Weavile, Mamoswine, Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. While smaller than the Genetic Apex expansion (286 cards), it boasts a higher percentage of rare cards (52 alternate art, Star, and Crown rarity cards compared to Genetic Apex's 60).

Despite the controversy, Creatures Inc. has yet to address the negative player reaction. While a "Trade Feature Celebration Gift" was offered, including 500 Trade Tokens and 120 Trade Hourglasses, the developer remains silent on the issue, failing to respond to inquiries from IGN and other outlets. The focus remains primarily on promoting the Space Time Smackdown expansion.
