Pokémon TCG Pocket is offering 1000 Trade Tokens to all players as it works to revamp its trading system. This in-game gift, accessible via the Gifts menu, is intended to appease players while the trading feature undergoes a rework.

The trading function, while highly requested, has faced significant criticism since its launch. Players have voiced concerns, leading developers to address the issues. The giveaway of Trade Tokens—a currency previously required for card trades—serves as a temporary solution.

Previous announcements detailed plans to simplify trading and make acquiring the necessary currency easier. Many fans pointed to restrictions, such as rarity limitations and the currency requirement itself, as major drawbacks.

To avoid the current controversy, a simpler approach might have been to either implement completely open trading or omit the feature entirely. While concerns about bots and exploitation are valid, stricter limitations likely wouldn't deter determined players.

The upcoming trading rework is crucial for addressing these concerns. A successful implementation could establish the digital TCG as a viable alternative to its physical counterpart.
