The God Of War, Ares, Has Arrived

The roguelike dungeon crawler sequel, Hades II, has unveiled its second major patch, the Warsong Update. This update introduces Melinoë to the "Final Confrontation" beyond the Guardian of Olympus and welcomes the fierce god of war, Ares, into the mix. Ares's Boons are set to add an exciting new dynamic to your gameplay experience.

In addition to Ares, the Warsong Update brings a wealth of new content, including a new animal familiar, fresh enemies to challenge, and an enhanced Altar of Ashes with new art and Arcana effects. Players will also discover over 2,000 new voice lines and new events to explore. For those looking to take a break from the intense dungeon crawling, the Crossroads offers a chance to unwind, enjoy new soundtracks, or even sing a melodic duet with Artemis.

Planning Ahead For The Third Major Update

Fresh off the release of the Warsong Update, Supergiant Games is already gearing up for the third major update, slated for release "some months from now," as announced in their Steam news post. Hades II will remain in Early Access for now, with the developers indicating that it's "still too early to share our plans beyond that, including when our v1.0 launch will be." However, they have hinted that the full release might be closer than expected, as the core structures of both the Underworld and the Surface routes are now largely complete, with the focus shifting to enriching the existing content.

Following the completion of The Warsong Update’s post-launch patches, Supergiant Games plans to focus on the following initiatives:

• Hidden Aspects: The Nocturnal Arms hold undiscovered secrets that players will eventually be able to uncover and wield.
• Enhanced Guardians: Boss battles, a cornerstone of the Hades II experience, will be refined to offer even more challenge and surprise.
• Expanded Story: The remainder of Melinoë’s story, along with various inter-character relationships and subplots, is already being planned.
