• Story

The tale begins in a forest near a village of Riders. Three young friends—the hero, Lilia, and Cheval—discover a mysterious glowing egg.

During a playful reenactment of the Rite of Kinship, the ritual unexpectedly succeeds, astounding the trio.

The egg hatches, revealing a baby Rathalos, a legendary flying wyvern known as "the King of the Skies." They lovingly name him "Ratha" and return with him to their village.

Shortly after, the village is suddenly attacked by a monster corrupted by the "Black Blight." While they repel the creature, it ravages the town and leaves deep emotional wounds on Cheval and Lilia.

A year later...

The hero receives a Kinship Stone from the Village Chief, officially becoming a Rider. Cheval and Lilia depart the village, each pursuing their own destiny. Now parted from childhood friends, the hero teams up with the energetic Navirou and sets out on a grand new adventure in the world of hunters.
