In a joint interview with screenwriter Craig Mazin, Druckmann discussed both the HBO adaptation and the games themselves. He revealed his struggles following the sequel's release during the COVID-19 pandemic, describing feelings of unease and heightened sensitivity exacerbated by online engagement. He confessed to reading reviews and online discussions, leading to self-doubt and questioning the game's quality.
