Avowed: How to Get Tier II & Fine Gear
In *Avowed*, maintaining up-to-date weaponry is crucial for survival. During the initial stages, you'll primarily encounter Common (Level I) weapons and enemies. However, as difficulty escalates, you'll need Fine (Level II) equipment to remain competitive. Here's how to acquire Tier II/Fine weapons and armor in *Avowed*.
How to Upgrade Weapons and Armor from Common (I) to Fine (II)
While some Fine quality gear can be found or purchased, most requires upgrading through a specific process. *Avowed* features a dual-tiered progression system for equipment: Quality (indicated by descriptors, colors, and Roman numerals) and incremental enhancement levels (+1 to +3). Common items appear in green with Level I designation, while Fine quality displays blue with Level II.
Upgrading from Common to Fine requires visiting Party Camps, where workbenches facilitate improvements. Each intermediate level (+1 through +3) demands specific materials based on gear type. After completing all three incremental upgrades, you'll need Adra crystals for the final quality jump. These rare materials are obtained through quest rewards, merchant purchases, or dismantling unique equipment.
Acquiring Fine (II) Weapons and Armor

While upgrading provides steady progression, alternative methods exist for obtaining Fine gear. In Dawnshore, Level II enemies - particularly bounty targets - occasionally drop such equipment. However, take caution when fighting stronger foes with lower-tier weapons, as effectiveness decreases significantly against advanced enemies.
Paradis merchants offer another reliable source after unlocking the area through main story progression (specifically after defeating the Dreamscourge bear in Dawnshore). Two particularly useful sisters operate stalls near the Bounty Board - Merlylin specializes in magical implements like grimoires and wands, while her sister deals in conventional weapons and armor (as pictured). These merchants provide excellent options for outfitting your character with superior gear.
With these methods, you'll be well-equipped to handle *Avowed's* increasing challenges as you progress through the Living Lands.
