A recent Reddit post revealed that Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney personally responded to a fan’s inquiry about the possibility, and his reply was brief and definitive: there are no plans to bring Alan Wake 2 to Steam.

For the disappointed fan, this meant shifting gears—stating they would now purchase the game on Xbox. While not ideal, at least they can still experience the acclaimed psychological horror title.

It's worth noting that Alan Wake 2 is different from many other Epic Games Store exclusives. In this case, Epic didn’t just publish the game—they also co-financed its development with Remedy Entertainment. Despite strong critical reception, however, the game has yet to turn a profit more than a year after launch.

On a brighter note, Remedy has confirmed that future titles will be self-published, which opens the door for releases on platforms like Steam. Fans of the studio’s signature storytelling and gameplay mechanics can look forward to wider availability going forward.
