Assassin’s Creed Shadows: All Difficulty Settings Explained
*Assassin’s Creed Shadows* can be a challenging game, but the good news is that you can adjust the settings to find a comfortable level of difficulty. Here’s a comprehensive guide to understanding and managing the difficulty levels in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Difficulty Levels Explained
In *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, you have four difficulty settings to choose from:
- Story: This mode is ideal for players who want to focus on the narrative without the stress of combat. Enemies are slow to react and do not attack simultaneously, making it easy to progress.
- Forgiving: A slight step up from Story mode, Forgiving mode still prevents enemies from ganging up on you, and Naoe becomes more effective in open combat.
- Normal: This is the default setting where you need to be cautious in combat. Naoe should use stealth, while Yasuke should engage enemies he can handle.
- Expert: In this mode, enemies are more aggressive and deal more damage. Stealth and strategy are crucial, along with regular gear upgrades.
Difficulty Tuning
While the four difficulty settings provide a good base, you can further customize your experience. Navigate to the Gameplay tab in the settings menu and select Difficulty Tuning. Here, you can adjust the difficulty for combat and stealth independently. If you enjoy challenging combat but prefer less demanding stealth, you can adjust these settings accordingly.
Additionally, you can enable Guaranteed Assassination, allowing Naoe to take down enemies with a single hit. This bypasses the need to upgrade her Assassin Mastery tree, making assassinations easier.
How to Change Difficulty
You can change the difficulty at any time during the game. Simply open the menu, go to settings, and navigate to the Gameplay tab. Adjust the difficulty to your preference and return to the game to experience the changes.
That covers everything you need to know about managing difficulty settings in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*. For more tips and insights on the game, including its approach to diverse relationships and how to redeem preorder bonuses, be sure to visit The Escapist.
