Ubisoft has unveiled an exciting roadmap for the first year of post-launch content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, promising a range of new features and updates that will enhance the gameplay experience. In a comprehensive four-and-a-half-minute video, Ubisoft detailed its plans for 2025, with a specific focus on the months of May and June, ensuring fans have plenty to look forward to with regular free updates throughout the year.

The rollout begins in early May with the first free story add-on, "The Works of Luis Frois." This update will be complemented by a Codex update and several quality-of-life enhancements, including significant parkour improvements and a photo mode update arriving in June. Ubisoft is committed to incorporating community feedback into the development process, as emphasized by community developer Daniel St. Germain in the roadmap video. "Your feedback has been a core focus of the team throughout development, and that’s not stopping now that Shadows is released," St. Germain stated, highlighting the ongoing efforts to refine the game across all platforms.

June will see the release of the next free story drop, along with new difficulty settings, enhanced gameplay immersion options, an open-world alarm system, and the ability to toggle headgear during cutscenes. These updates are designed to meet player expectations and improve the overall experience. Ubisoft also plans to introduce new game+ support, additional story content, special collaborations, and more before the year ends.

The highlight of the post-launch roadmap is the "Claws of Awaji" DLC, set to launch later in the year. This expansion will feature new content, including the Bo staff weapon and a new region for protagonists Naoe and Yasuke to explore, spanning a 10-hour journey. While pricing details are yet to be disclosed, the DLC will be free for those who pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows before its launch in March.
