Today's ID@Xbox showcase had a delightful surprise: the return of everyone's favorite trickster, Jimbo, who revealed that Balatro is now available on Xbox Game Pass, alongside some new friends joining the fun.

In a new trailer shown during the event, we learned that Balatro is receiving another "Friends of Jimbo" update, introducing several fresh face card designs. The preview suggests these additions feature references to Bugsnax, Civilization, Assassin's Creed, Slay the Princess, Friday the 13th, and Fallout.

Previous Friends of Jimbo updates have brought in characters and themes from The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, Among Us, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Vampire Survivors, Stardew Valley, and others. This marks the fourth such update, and like earlier ones, these are purely cosmetic—don't anticipate major new gameplay features.

What you can look forward to is playing Balatro on Xbox Game Pass starting today—no delays. While the game was already for sale on Xbox, this makes it even easier to dive right in and get hooked on Balatro's addicting card-based action, just as we have. Jimbo would definitely approve.
