The stress test for what could be the eighth and final major patch of *Baldur's Gate III* has officially kicked off. Some Sony console players had early access to the patch, but if you're not keen on testing it out, the developers suggest a clean slate by reinstalling the game.

Patch 8 brings exciting updates, with crossplay leading the charge. This feature lets players on consoles and PC join forces in the same game. All you need is a linked Larian account, and you're good to go—invite friends from any platform to play together. Even if you're into modding, cross-platform play is supported as long as two conditions are met: all mods used by the PC player must also be accessible on Mac and consoles, and the host’s lobby should not have more than a double-digit number of mods installed.

For multiplayer enthusiasts, a much-anticipated feature is now in testing: split-screen co-op on the Xbox Series S. This console previously couldn't handle split-screen play due to its lower power, making this update a significant win for its users.
