Midjiwan has unleashed a significant update for The Battle of Polytopia: a complete overhaul of the Aquarion Tribe. This marks a substantial rework of the game's first special tribe, initially introduced in 2017.

Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation

The Aquarion units now boast mermaid tails, making them amphibious or fully aquatic. This grants them effortless water traversal, although land movement is slower. A new flooded terrain mechanic allows land and naval units to occupy the same space—a first for the game.

Buildings have also received an aquatic makeover. Construction on water is now possible, with Lost Cities nestled within deep-sea ruins, providing ideal watery strongholds. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Aqua Crops are back and permanently integrated into the Aquarion arsenal, functioning similarly to land-based crops.

New Aquatic Units Join the Fray

The update introduces exciting new sea creatures: Sharks for surprise attacks, Puffers for long-range bombardment, and Jellies that deliver electric shocks. Returning favorites, the Tridentions and Crabs, also feature enhancements; Crabs now flood tiles they traverse, synergizing perfectly with the mermaid troops. See them in action!
