Indie game developer Sander Frenken has unveiled the alpha testing phase for his upcoming title, Battledom. This RTS-lite game serves as a spiritual successor to his 2020 hit, Herodom, and represents approximately two years of part-time development. Frenken describes Battledom as a closer realization of his original vision for Herodom.

Battledom offers dynamic RTS combat, enabling players to freely maneuver units across the battlefield. Strategic deployment is key, as players manually direct attacks, including the deployment and firing of siege weapons. The game also incorporates various unit formations to enhance tactical depth.

Players amass coins to recruit units, initially equipped with basic weaponry and no armor. However, strategic customization is a core element. Players can equip units with crafted weapons and armor, directly impacting stats such as attack power, range, accuracy, and defense.

Resource gathering and crafting are essential. Players collect resources like wood, leather, and coal within their village, then utilize these materials at the blacksmith, magician, and other specialized crafters to create equipment.

Frenken's previous success with Herodom, which boasts a 4.6 App Store rating, showcases his design capabilities. Herodom features over 55 collectible heroes, 150 units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles. Progression unlocks new character customizations and farm additions.
