New Information About Blades of Fire

The talented developers at MercurySteam, alumni of Rebel Act Studios, bring their experience from the cult classic game Severance: Blade of Darkness to their latest project. Released in 2001, Severance was renowned for its groundbreaking combat system that allowed players to sever enemies' limbs, infusing the gameplay with a gritty realism and brutal intensity. This pioneering title served as a major source of inspiration for MercurySteam's new endeavor.

While rooted in the legacy of Severance, the creation of their new game, Blades of Fire, has also been influenced by contemporary action-adventure masterpieces. Drawing inspiration from the cinematic combat and intricately crafted world of the God of War reboot by Santa Monica Studio, the team at MercurySteam set out to blend fast-paced action with rich RPG elements. Their goal is to deliver an engaging and immersive experience that captivates players from start to finish.

A standout feature of Blades of Fire is its unique weapon crafting system. Players will have the opportunity to forge their own blades, meticulously customizing attributes such as length, weight, durability, and balance. This level of customization empowers players to craft weapons that perfectly align with their preferred combat style, adding a deeply personal touch to the gameplay.

The narrative of Blades of Fire centers on the warrior Aran de Lira, who embarks on a perilous journey to confront a cunning queen with the power to turn metal into stone. Throughout his quest, Aran will encounter 50 distinct types of enemies, each demanding a strategic and unique approach to overcome.

Blades of Fire is set to launch on PC (Epic Games Store), Xbox Series, and PS5 on May 22, 2025. Players eager to dive into this action-packed adventure can mark their calendars for this highly anticipated release.
