Unfortunately, due to recent events, Marvel Snap has been banned alongside other ByteDance apps such as CapCut and Lemon8. As of January 18, 2025, the game is no longer available on iOS and Android platforms, much to the dismay of its player base.

While many players are facing authorization issues, those with a PC can still access the game via Steam. The developers at Second Dinner expressed their surprise and disappointment over the ban and are actively working to bring the game back online. In an official statement, a Platform X representative assured players, stating:

“Marvel Snap is here to stay. We're working hard to restore the game as quickly as possible, and we'll keep players informed of our progress”.

One of the most frustrating elements of this situation is the lack of prior warning to players. Many were unaware of the impending lockout and continued to make in-game purchases, which has led to widespread frustration.

The ban has not affected all ByteDance apps uniformly. For instance, games like Ragnarok X: 3rd Anniversary and Earth: Revival - Deep Underground remain accessible to players.
