Bloodborne Remaster Speculation Runs Wild Due to Official Instagram Posts

Bloodborne Remaster Speculation Intensifies After Official Instagram PostsYears of fervent pleas from Bloodborne fans for a remastered version of FromSoftware's acclaimed title have reached a fever pitch, fueled by recent Instagram activity.

Instagram Posts Reignite Bloodborne Remaster Hype

A Beloved Classic Deserves a Modern Update

Bloodborne, the critically lauded RPG released in 2015, holds a special place in the hearts of many gamers. The desire to revisit Yharnam's gothic streets on modern consoles is widespread. While no official announcement has been made, recent posts on FromSoftware and PlayStation Italia's Instagram accounts showcasing the game have sent anticipation soaring.

On August 24th, FromSoftware shared three images featuring the game's title and the hashtag "#bloodborne." One image depicted Djura, a formidable hunter encountered in Old Yharnam. The others showcased the player character exploring Yharnam's heart and the eerie Charnel Lane.

While these posts could simply be a nostalgic throwback, Bloodborne enthusiasts on platforms like Twitter (now X) have meticulously examined every detail, searching for clues confirming the long-awaited remaster. The timing, particularly with a similar post from PlayStation Italia on August 17th, has only amplified this speculation.

PlayStation Italia's post (translated) asked: "Swipe to see some of Bloodborne’s most iconic locations! A journey through gothic atmospheres and dark mysteries. Which is your favorite?" The comments section overflowed with fans expressing their yearning for a Yharnam return, many playfully suggesting the most iconic location would be on PC or modern consoles.

The Hunt for a Modern Bloodborne Continues – Almost a Decade Later

Bloodborne Remaster Speculation Intensifies After Official Instagram PostsReleased exclusively for PS4 in 2015, Bloodborne has cultivated a fiercely loyal fanbase, earning widespread critical acclaim and ranking among the greatest video games ever created. Despite this, a sequel or remaster remains elusive.

Fans point to the 2020 Demon's Souls remake (originally released in 2009) as a potential precedent. However, this positive comparison is tempered by concerns about the potential wait. The over-a-decade gap for the Demon's Souls remake fuels fears of a similar delay for Bloodborne. As the game nears its tenth anniversary, the anticipation is palpable.

Fuel was added to the fire in a February interview with Eurogamer, where Bloodborne director Hidetaka Miyazaki acknowledged the advantages of remastering the game for modern hardware:

"I think having new hardware is definitely a part of what gives these remakes value," Miyazaki stated. "However, I wouldn’t say that’s the be all and end all. I think purely from a user perspective, modern hardware also allows more players to appreciate all the games. And so, it ends up being a simple reason, but as a fellow player, I think that accessibility is important."

Bloodborne Remaster Speculation Intensifies After Official Instagram PostsWhile Miyazaki's words offer a spark of hope, the final decision rests not with FromSoftware. Unlike Elden Ring, FromSoftware fully owns the publishing rights. Bloodborne, however, remains under Sony's control.

"Unfortunately, and I’ve said this in other interviews, it’s not in my place to talk about Bloodborne specifically," Miyazaki explained in a similar interview with IGN. "We simply don’t own the IP at FromSoftware. For me personally, it was a great project, and I have a lot of great memories for that game, but we’re not at liberty to speak to it."

Bloodborne Remaster Speculation Intensifies After Official Instagram PostsBloodborne's passionate community eagerly awaits a remaster. Despite its critical success and strong sales, Sony has yet to broaden its reach beyond the PlayStation 4. Only time will tell if the ongoing speculation translates into reality.
