Throughout the morning, numerous users, including our team at IGN, encountered difficulties accessing the service. Even when we managed to open the app, it failed to play any music.

Spotify has officially acknowledged the problem and is actively working to resolve it. The company has also debunked rumors suggesting that the outage was due to a security breach, confirming that these reports are untrue.
