Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still underway, developers have implemented a temporary solution.

This issue, reported since early January 2025, has caused significant frustration among players. The problem surfaced after a major update in early January, adding to a string of recent challenges for the developers, including previous matchmaking outages and ongoing concerns about cheating and bugs.

In response to player complaints about unwarranted penalties, Raven Software announced on January 9th that Skill Rating (SR) penalties and timeouts are temporarily suspended for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This addresses the immediate impact of the glitch, though players leaving mid-match will still face penalties.

While this mitigates the frustration, the underlying loading screen crash issue remains unresolved. The persistent bugs, even after recent patches, highlight the ongoing challenges faced by the development team in maintaining a stable and enjoyable gaming experience.
