Capcom Hints at Resident Evil 9 in Cheerful Video Marking 10M RE4 Players
Capcom has cleverly teased Resident Evil 9 in a recent celebratory video, marking a significant milestone of 10 million players for Resident Evil 4. On April 25, the development team shared a video on social media featuring Ada Wong engaging in a hushed conversation with a notorious villain, before the scene shifts to Leon surrounded by infected enemies wearing party hats, casually advancing toward a church.
The video then transitions to a surprising scene where Dr. Salvador plays a rock song on his chainsaw as if it were a guitar. Amidst the lively atmosphere, the camera pans to a jubilant Leon, with a rustic "Thank you for playing" sign in the background.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed something intriguing when the "Thank you for playing" sign is turned sideways; the planks form the Roman numeral "IX," representing the number 9. While this could be dismissed as a mere coincidence, horror game insider Dusk Golem points out that the lower plank was absent in earlier parts of the video, suggesting its addition was deliberate.
"I know what you did here," said one astonished viewer, accompanied by a wide-eyed emoji.
Capcom has officially announced that Resident Evil 7 director Koshi Nakanishi will helm the next mainline entry in the Resident Evil series.Reflecting on the challenges post-Resident Evil 7, Nakanishi said at the time, "It was really difficult to figure out what to do after [Resident Evil 7]. But I found it, and to be honest, it feels substantial. I can't share any details just yet, but I hope you're excited for the day I can." Although not officially confirmed, rumors suggest the game might be set on an island inspired by Singapore.
