This places Brave New World among the rare MCU films running under two hours, ranking as the seventh shortest out of 35 total releases. Previous Captain America films all exceeded the two-hour mark, making this a notable departure.

While most shorter MCU films appeared during Phases 1 and 2, some recent exceptions exist. The current record holder remains 2022's The Marvels at 105 minutes, followed by The Incredible Hulk (112 minutes), Thor: The Dark World (112 minutes), Thor (114 minutes), Doctor Strange (115 minutes), and Ant-Man (117 minutes).

Brave New World shares its exact runtime with Ant-Man and The Wasp. For context, Avengers: Endgame remains the longest MCU film at 181 minutes, followed by Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (161 minutes), Eternals (157 minutes), and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (150 minutes).

Approaching its February 14 release date, Brave New World reportedly underwent extensive rewrites and reshoots - including scenes featuring WWE star Seth Rollins. However, the extent of these changes' impact on the final runtime remains unclear.

This marks the first Captain America film starring Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson following Chris Evans' retirement as Steve Rogers. Mackie assures fans the film maintains the franchise's signature grounded espionage tone while expanding the mythology.

The movie will introduce several deep-cut Marvel characters, including The Leader - a character first teased in The Incredible Hulk (2008). The appearance of Red Hulk also promises significant additions to MCU lore.
