Monster Hunter Wilds' Captured Monsters Exit Stage Left

Many players associate Monster Hunter with slaying creatures, but capturing them is just as crucial. As Monster Hunter Wilds enthusiasts have noticed, capturing a monster and lingering afterward can lead to a humorous in-game moment.

Reddit user RDGtheGreat shared on the r/MonsterHunter subreddit that if you stay near a captured monster long enough, you’ll witness a behind-the-scenes glimpse—the monster simply stands up and walks away.

Fun fact: captured monsters just get up and leave within a minute of napping

After capturing a Nu Udra and waiting, the large cephalopod eventually gets to its feet and departs. Several fans joked that it felt like the end of a film shoot, and it certainly adds a lighthearted touch.

From a lore perspective, it makes sense—the research team likely doesn't have giant containment units. Monster Hunter Wilds adopting a catch-and-release method for study aligns well with Alma and her crew’s ethical approach throughout the narrative.

Whatever the reasoning, it’s a charming detail. It’s impressive that Capcom’s developers included a unique animation instead of simply fading the creature out. Watching this creature, now missing several limbs, scurry off may look slightly absurd, but it adds a thoughtful layer to how Alma and her team conduct their research.
