Understanding Factions in *Dynasty Warriors: Origins*

The game unfolds in chapters. The first two chapters feature the Wanderer, your character, acting independently. You'll assist Sun Jian, Cao Cao, and Liu Bei, participating in pivotal events like the Yellow Turban Rebellion and the Battle of Hulao Gate.

Chapter 3 presents the choice: you must pledge allegiance to one of the three factions. Before making your decision, the game provides opportunities to learn more about each faction through battles.

To ally with a faction, complete a specific number of missions: three for Sun Jian, two for Liu Bei, and one for Cao Cao. Once you meet the requirement, a new mission will trigger, forcing you to choose a side. Only factions with completed missions will be selectable. You can complete all missions before committing.

Your choice is permanent. The unchosen faction becomes inaccessible; you can no longer accept sidequests from their officers, hindering your bond growth and potentially increasing difficulty. For instance, allying with Liu Bei, who starts with fewer officers, limits early skill point acquisition opportunities.

Each faction offers unique missions. To experience all content, create a save before choosing, allowing replays with different allegiances.
