Firaxis Games unveiled the post-launch roadmap for Sid Meier's Civilization VII during a recent livestream. The roadmap details substantial updates planned throughout 2025, including several DLC pack collections and free content updates.

Paid DLC will arrive in two parts, collectively titled the "Crossroads of the World Collection." Part one (early March) includes Leader Ada Lovelace, four Natural Wonders, and the Carthage and Great Britain civilizations. Part two (late March) adds Leader Simon Bolivar and the Bulgaria and Nepal civilizations. Free content releases are also scheduled for early and late March, featuring new Natural Wonder events and Wonders (Battle event and Bermuda Triangle in early March; Marvelous Mountains event and Mount Everest in late March).

Further paid DLC, the "Right Rule Collection," is slated for summer 2025, introducing two new leaders, four civilizations, and four New World Wonders. Additional free content and updates are planned from April through September. Firaxis promises continued post-launch support from October 2025 onward. Specific release dates remain unannounced.

A developer diary blog post expands on these plans, highlighting future additions such as multiplayer team support, larger multiplayer lobbies, increased map variety, and modding tools. These features will be implemented "as soon as possible," according to the developers. The diary also emphasizes initial bug fixes, balance adjustments, and quality-of-life improvements.

The livestream also showcased multiplayer gameplay, demonstrating diverse victory strategies. A Q&A session addressed community questions.

Sid Meier's Civilization VII launches February 11th, 2024 for PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Early access (Deluxe Edition) begins February 6th, 2024.
