Civilization VII's 2025 release is a monumental event for strategy game enthusiasts, and Firaxis Games is committed to a robust post-launch support plan. This roadmap outlines the exciting updates planned for Civ VII throughout 2025.

Here's a quick look at what awaits Civ VII players this year:

Timeline	Updates
Feb. 6	Early Access begins for Deluxe and Founders Edition owners.
Feb. 11	Global launch!
Early March	Crossroads of the World: Ada Lovelace, Carthage, Great Britain, and four new Natural Wonders are introduced. This includes the 1.1.0 major update, Natural Wonder Battles, and the Bermuda Triangle.
Late March	Crossroads of the World continues with Simon Bolivar, Bulgaria, and Nepal. The 1.1.1 update is released, along with Marvelous Mountains and Mount Everest.
April to September	Right to Rule expansion: Two new leaders, four new civilizations, and four new World Wonders are added.

Civilization VII Free Updates

Firaxis will continuously improve Civ VII with free updates, incorporating player feedback. Initial updates will prioritize balance adjustments, bug fixes, and quality-of-life enhancements.

Future high-priority features include:

Team-based multiplayer for cooperative play.
Expansion of multiplayer games to eight players across all ages, refining the Distant Land system.
Player-selectable starting and ending ages for single or double-age games.
A wider variety of map types.
Hotseat multiplayer.

Please note that specific release dates for these features are not yet available.

In addition to these updates, Firaxis plans to introduce in-game events and actively support the modding community. This commitment ensures a thriving and evolving Civilization VII experience throughout 2025 and beyond.
