| Late March | Crossroads of the World continues with Simon Bolivar, Bulgaria, and Nepal. The 1.1.1 update is released, along with Marvelous Mountains and Mount Everest. |
| April to September | Right to Rule expansion: Two new leaders, four new civilizations, and four new World Wonders are added. |
Civilization VII Free Updates
Firaxis will continuously improve Civ VII with free updates, incorporating player feedback. Initial updates will prioritize balance adjustments, bug fixes, and quality-of-life enhancements.
Future high-priority features include:
- Team-based multiplayer for cooperative play.
- Expansion of multiplayer games to eight players across all ages, refining the Distant Land system.
- Player-selectable starting and ending ages for single or double-age games.
- A wider variety of map types.
- Hotseat multiplayer.
