The mobile strategy tower defense game, Code Geass: Lost Stories, is ending its global run. While the Japanese version will continue, the international servers are shutting down on August 29th, 2024. Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games, and published by Komoe, the game, based on the popular Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion franchise, launched globally in September 2023, falling short of its first anniversary.

The game's global servers and social media presence will cease operations on August 29th, 2024. New downloads and in-app purchases have already been disabled.

Reasons for Closure:

While official reasons haven't been stated, low download numbers and generally unfavorable global reviews likely contributed to the decision. Many licensed anime gacha games struggle to maintain a significant player base outside of Japan, where player spending tends to be higher. The game's blend of RPG, action, and tower defense elements, while potentially appealing, couldn't overcome these challenges in the global market.
