The acclaimed series Shōgun, which has garnered 18 Emmy Awards and 4 Golden Globes, is set to return for a highly anticipated second season. Cosmo Jarvis, known for his role as the pilot John Blackthorn, will not only reprise his character but also take on the role of co-executive producer, as confirmed by an official FX press release.

Moreover, Hiroyuki Sanada, who plays Lord Yoshii Toranaga, signed on for the second season in May last year following the show's renewal. Initially conceived as a limited series, Shōgun has seen Sanada promoted to executive producer after his contributions to the first season. Production for Season 2 is slated to start in January 2026 in Vancouver, the same location where the original series was filmed.
