Pearl Abyss remains committed to self-publishing Crimson Desert. In a statement to Eurogamer, the developer confirmed their independent publishing plans, previously announced during a public earnings call. While acknowledging and valuing their business partners, they emphasized their focus on self-publishing and ongoing discussions about various collaborations.

A playable Crimson Desert build will be showcased to media this week in Paris, followed by a public demonstration at G-Star in November. The developer clarified that no release date has been set, and any reports to the contrary are purely speculative.

September investor meetings revealed Sony's attempt to secure Crimson Desert as a PS5 exclusive, potentially excluding Xbox for a period. However, Pearl Abyss opted for self-publishing, believing it to be the more lucrative strategy.

Currently, neither a definitive platform list nor a firm release date exists. However, a PC, PlayStation, and Xbox launch is anticipated around Q2 2025.
