Cursed Objects (also known as "Cursed Possessions") are randomly generated items in Phasmophobia, appearing on various maps depending on game mode and settings. Activation requires locating and interacting with them within the location.

Unlike the standard equipment, Cursed Objects offer advantageous "cheats" with inherent drawbacks. Benefits like pinpointing the ghost's favorite room or providing party buffs always come at a cost—substantial sanity loss, temporary blindness, or unexpected "cursed" hunts. Strategic use is crucial; sometimes, avoiding them is the best option. Note that Cursed Objects don't appear at all difficulty levels or in Challenge Mode.

Currently, seven Cursed Objects exist in Phasmophobia, each with unique abilities and debilitating effects. A common consequence is significant sanity reduction for the user. Proximity to the user increases the "cursed hunt" risk for teammates.

Cursed Hunts mirror regular hunts but ignore sanity levels, even immediately following a standard hunt. They also last 20 seconds longer, increasing the challenge of escape or concealment depending on difficulty settings.

Cursed Object	Ability
Tarot Cards	Ten random cards offering buffs, debuffs, or increased ghost activity. The "Death" card triggers a Cursed Hunt.
Ouija Board	Facilitates direct communication with the ghost. Specific questions ("Hide and Seek") or shattering the board initiates a Cursed Hunt.
Haunted Mirror	Reveals the ghost's favored room. Shattering the mirror triggers a Cursed Hunt.
Music Box	Reveals the ghost's location via a special event. Prolonged use triggers a Cursed Hunt.
Summoning Circle	Summons and traps the ghost. Always triggers a Cursed Hunt unless a Tier 3 Crucifix is present.
Voodoo Doll	Forces ghost interactions via pins. Pushing the heart pin triggers a Cursed Hunt.
Monkey Paw	Grants wishes influencing the ghost or environment. Certain wishes can severely hinder the player.

Haunted Mirror
