Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for its mobile launch on iOS and Android. This relaunch by Level Infinite, a Tencent subsidiary, marks a significant entry into the modern military shooter market, slated for a late January 2025 release. The game promises diverse missions and modes, emphasizing tactical gameplay.

For those unfamiliar, the Delta Force franchise is a veteran of the FPS genre, predating even Call of Duty. Drawing inspiration from the real-life US military unit, the series has always focused on realistic weaponry and gadgets. This revival maintains that tradition.

Tencent's approach to the reboot is ambitious, offering both large-scale Battlefield-style "Warfare" mode and the extraction-focused "Operations" mode. A highly anticipated single-player campaign, inspired by the Battle of Mogadishu and the film "Black Hawk Down," is also planned for 2025.

The Cheating Controversy:

Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced controversy surrounding its anti-cheat measures. Tencent's aggressive approach, while aiming to eradicate cheaters, has drawn criticism. While the dedicated anti-cheat team, G.T.I. Security, claims to be actively combating the problem, the PC version's restrictions on certain software and hardware have been met with negative feedback.

Although the mobile platform might experience less cheating, this initial controversy could still impact the game's reception. However, the potential for a smoother, cheat-free mobile experience remains.
