Deltarune's Console Testing Going Smoothly

Toby Fox took to his official Bluesky account to inform fans that console testing for Deltarune is progressing well. Despite the challenges, Fox noted, "Still console testing. There are fewer bugs, but there's a lot to go through. (Haven't even tested PS5 yet)." This indicates a meticulous approach to ensuring the game's quality. Additionally, Fox mentioned efforts to integrate save files from the demo (Chapters 1 and 2) into the full console versions of the game. This feature, which allows players to carry over their progress, has been a recent technological achievement for the team. "I hope it works!" Fox optimistically added.

With the testing phase showing promising results, the release of Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 is anticipated for 2025, as confirmed by Fox on his Bluesky account.

Fox Namedrops New Character, Tenna

Despite the heavy workload, Toby Fox keeps fans engaged with humorous and intriguing updates. Known for his clever use of internet memes and self-deprecating humor, Fox recently shared a light-hearted anecdote: "I showed my family and friends a minigame I've been working on for DR (Deltarune) and they all described it as ‘a cry for help because your game is not out’." His family reassured him that it was a good thing, while his friend couldn't stop laughing for ten minutes.

This update sparked speculation among fans, especially since Fox had previously stated in 2024 that Chapters 3 and 4 were complete content-wise. Some believe the minigame might be part of the forthcoming Chapter 5, as Deltarune is planned to span seven chapters in total.

Fox also mentioned a new character, Tenna, in his post: "Same friend who played Chapter 3 like over a year ago also told me ‘I miss Tenna’ and I was like ‘man that's something no one in the world has ever said huh’." Tenna, who has not yet appeared in the game, was first introduced during the Spamton Sweepstakes campaign for the Child’s Play charity in September 2022. Fox's mention confirms Tenna's role in Chapter 3.

Deltarune serves as the successor to the beloved 2015 game, Undertale, retaining many of its mechanics and quirks while introducing a fresh narrative and characters. Players will join Kris, Susie, and Ralsei on an epic quest to save the world.
