Development of Crysis 4 Temporarily Paused Due to Financial Difficulties

Crytek announced a restructuring plan involving staff reductions. Approximately 60 employees, representing about 15% of its 400-person workforce, will be laid off due to financial difficulties.

Concurrently, Crytek revealed that development of the next Crysis game has been paused, a decision made in Q3 2024. The company is now focusing all resources on Hunt: Showdown 1896. While exploring staff reassignments to other projects was considered, it proved infeasible, leading to the layoffs despite cost-cutting measures.

Crytek's immediate future centers on expanding Hunt: Showdown 1896 content, with the new Crysis title indefinitely delayed. Affected employees will receive severance and career assistance. Despite the challenges, Crytek remains positive about its long-term prospects, emphasizing continued development of Hunt: Showdown 1896 and its CRYENGINE technology.
