Netflix Unveils Devil May Cry Anime Opening Trailer, Promises Diverse Future Seasons

Following the announcement of its premiere date, Netflix dropped the opening trailer for its upcoming Devil May Cry anime adaptation. The trailer, set to Limp Bizkit's iconic "Rollin'," showcases dynamic action sequences featuring a young Dante, Lady, and the enigmatic White Rabbit, peppered with nods to the game series.

Showrunner Adi Shankar elaborated on his vision for the anime's future. He explained that the series, set in the late 90s and early 2000s, utilizes a soundtrack reflecting the era's vibe, featuring Limp Bizkit and other contemporary artists alongside a synthwave remix of the game's soundtrack by Power Glove.

Shankar hinted at the anime's long-term prospects, stating that future seasons will boast distinct visual styles and soundtracks to mirror the diversity within the Devil May Cry game franchise. This subtly confirms plans for multiple seasons beyond the initial run.

Plot specifics remain under wraps. However, the first season is anticipated to draw inspiration from the Devil May Cry 3 manga, Code 1: Dante, which centers on a young Dante investigating a child's disappearance, forcing him to confront his demonic heritage and the legacy of his father, Sparda.

The eight-episode first season is slated to debut on April 3, 2025.
