Your questline starts in the bustling city of Osaka, where a woman in the town center speaks of a game involving origami butterflies. As you ride around the city, you'll encounter these large paper butterflies, pinned to tree trunks with real butterflies fluttering around them. Collecting these leads you to uncover disturbing notes that reveal the true nature of the Butterfly Collector.

This secret group is anything but fun. They are involved in the heinous act of kidnapping children, which you must stop. There are five members of this faction to find and confront in the game.

How and Where To Find All Butterfly Collector Members in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Like other objective boards in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, finding these members requires following geographical clues. We'll guide you directly to each target, saving you the trouble of piecing together the puzzle.

Shucho

Shucho's carelessness provides your entry point into the group. She lost the child she kidnapped in the Fishermen’s District at the southeastern tip of Osaka. Dressed in green, she can be found at an intersection, looking frantic. Dispatch her with Naoe’s blade or Yasuke’s weapons, and then rescue the child hiding behind nearby horses.

Mucho

Head northwest from Shucho's location, crossing the bridge to reach the Kojo ruins. Mucho, posing as a family jochu, is struggling with her latest victim on the road just south of the ruins. Use the child's resistance to get close; Mucho will attack without hesitation, forcing you to end her. Escort the child back to her mother, then move on to the next target.

Richo

Richo, a young woman who blends in with higher society, can be heard about from locals talking about a suspicious figure entering and leaving a bamboo grove. Head to the northern end of Osaka, specifically Noda Village across the water, to find the grove. Inside, you'll find Richo dressed in pink. Take her down stealthily or in combat, and rescue the child she's holding captive.

Kacho

After dealing with the previous three members, you'll face Kacho, the leader. Her cult-like control over her followers makes her a formidable opponent. She's located just north of the Nishinomaru Garden, west of Osaka Castle, in a restricted zone. Look for the butterflies to find her. Engage her in conversation, then prepare for a deadly fight. Kacho will die by your hand, leaving one final member to address.

Gamemaker

Return to the Gamemaker, the woman who started the butterfly hunt. As a former victim, she created the game hoping someone would unravel the mystery and save others. You now have a choice: punish her for her involvement or allow her to start anew. Choosing the latter lets her adopt a new identity and life. Make your decision, and the Butterfly Collector faction will be dismantled, earning you 5,500 XP.
