"We're thrilled to share this with our fans," BioWare announced on Twitter (X). They've also detailed a schedule of upcoming reveals to keep the excitement building: "Expect high-level warrior combat gameplay, Companions Week, and more in the coming weeks," the developers shared. A Decade in the Making

The development of Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been a long and complex process, marked by significant delays spanning almost a decade. Development began in 2015, following Dragon Age: Inquisition. However, BioWare's focus shifted to Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem, impacting resource allocation and ultimately leading to a pause in development (initially codenamed "Joplin"). The initial design didn't align with the company's live-service strategy.

The project was revived in 2018 under the codename "Morrison." After further development, it was officially announced as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2022, before settling on its current title.
