Yasuhiro Kitao, the project's product manager, recently confirmed to journalists that these iconic environments will not feature in the game. Although a similar setting was glimpsed in the *Elden Ring Nightreign* trailer, Kitao clarified that it is an entirely different location. The absence of these swamps is attributed to the lack of involvement from Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software, who is renowned for his affection for such challenging terrains. It's Miyazaki's influence that has led to the inclusion of swamp areas in both *Elden Ring* and the *Dark Souls* series. However, he did not participate in the development of *Elden Ring Nightreign*.

On another front, there's exciting news for fans hoping for more cooperative gameplay options. Initially, *Elden Ring Nightreign* was announced to feature only one-player and three-player modes, with the exclusion of a two-player mode due to content balancing issues. However, From Software is now contemplating the addition of a two-player mode to the game.
