Marvel Contest of Champions is set to bring a wave of thrilling updates and new champions this April, starting with the introduction of Spider-Woman and the enigmatic Lumatrix.

Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions

Spider-Woman, born as Jessica Drew, faced a challenging childhood after being exposed to uranium near her home. Her father, a brilliant geneticist, attempted to save her by injecting her with a concoction of spider DNA. After a long recovery, Jessica not only overcame the negative effects of the experiment but also emerged with remarkable spider powers, transforming her into the formidable Spider-Woman. Fans can add this new champion to their roster in MCOC starting April 17th.

However, before Spider-Woman makes her debut, another champion, Lumatrix, will join the fray on April 9th. As one of the most lethal assassins crafted by the Founders, Lumatrix is designed for stealth and assassination, wielding dazzling light-based powers that make him a formidable opponent.

What Else Is New?

On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," unfolds with dramatic developments. Carina suffers severe injuries after an encounter with Ouroborus forces, while Doctor Doom allies with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading corruption of the Chronoserpent. A new antagonist, Lotan, adds to the tension.

Additionally, a new Event Quest, "Spy Games," kicks off on April 9th and runs through May 7th. Black Widow delves into the mysteries surrounding the Eidols, enlisting Spider-Woman's help to unravel the enigma.

Dark Phoenix returns in the Side Quest "Dark Bounties," challenging players to hunt down champions targeted by her bounty and claim their rewards.

The Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector also makes a comeback, offering players the chance to assemble their most powerful Saga champions to battle through for valuable rewards like Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
