Fantasma Adds New Languages for Gamescom Latam

At Pocket Gamer, we strive to keep you updated on the latest in mobile gaming, but occasionally, a gem like Dynabytes' Fantasma slips through the cracks. I stumbled upon this intriguing title during my visit to Gamescom Latam last week. Fantasma is an augmented reality multiplayer GPS adventure that challenges you to battle evil creatures known as Fantasmas. The game's unique name might be a tongue-twister, but its gameplay is anything but.

Coinciding with its showcase at Gamescom Latam, Fantasma has rolled out a significant update introducing support for Japanese, Korean, Malay, and Portuguese languages. This is particularly fitting given the event's location in Brazil. But Dynabytes isn't stopping there; German, Italian, and Spanish language support is slated to arrive in the coming months, further broadening the game's accessibility.

So, what's the deal with Fantasma? In this game, you're on a mission to track down and combat these pesky Fantasmas that are wreaking havoc. To lure them in, you'll deploy portable electromagnetic fields—think of it as bait, but far more high-tech than your average fishing lure.

Once the Fantasmas are enticed, you engage them in augmented reality battles. Picture yourself swinging your phone around your surroundings—be it your bedroom, a local park, or anywhere else—trying to keep the Fantasma in your sights as you tap the screen to shoot energy balls at them. Successfully deplete their health, and you can trap these paranormal beings in specialized bottles.

The Fantasmas appear based on your real-world location, encouraging you to explore your surroundings to encounter more of these creatures. Deploying sensors can extend your reach, pulling in Fantasmas from greater distances. And if you prefer a team effort, you can join forces with other players for a more collaborative experience.

Fantasma is now available on both the App Store and Google Play, offering a free-to-play experience with optional in-app purchases. If you're intrigued, you can download it for your preferred platform using the links below.
