World of Warcraft's annual Feast of Winter Veil, a festive in-game event mirroring Christmas, returns with fresh rewards and activities. This year's celebration is highlighted by a new lore video, a collaboration with PlatinumWoW, delving into the holiday's rich history.

The video explores the event's origins, weaving together Dwarven myths of Greatfather Winter – a Titan-forged giant spreading winter's magic – and Tauren traditions of reflection and gratitude towards the Earthmother. The video also humorously touches upon the commercialization of Winter Veil, mirroring real-world Christmas trends, with a focus on the Goblin-run Smokeywood Pastures.

Metzen the Reindeer's Misadventures:

No Winter Veil story is complete without mentioning Metzen the Reindeer, named after Chris Metzen. This unfortunate reindeer has endured three separate kidnappings: by pirates and Dark Iron Dwarves in Classic WoW, and later by the Grinch in the modern game. The video concludes with a fittingly comical thank you from Metzen, voiced in Thrall's iconic tone (a nod to Metzen's voice acting).
