Sucker Punch Productions and PlayStation have confirmed Ghost of Yōtei will launch on October 2, 2025. The announcement came with "The Onryō's List" trailer, revealing key story elements and gameplay moments from this sequel set in feudal Hokkaido.

Ghost of Yōtei follows protagonist Atsu's quest for vengeance against the ruthless Yōtei Six - a band of outlaws responsible for her family's massacre. Players will systematically hunt these targets: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.

This standalone sequel takes place 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima, introducing new weapons, expanded mechanics, and enhanced gameplay systems while maintaining the series' acclaimed combat and exploration.

Strategic Revenge System

Ghost of Yōtei introduces nonlinear progression, allowing players to eliminate the Yōtei Six in any order they choose. Sucker Punch's April 23 blog post detailed significant improvements to the open-world experience, offering greater exploration freedom than its predecessor.

Beyond the main storyline, players can pursue bounties, train with weapon masters, and engage with a refined version of the beloved Guiding Wind navigation system. A new campfire mechanic provides dynamic resting points throughout Ezo's wilderness.
