Developers at Alkimia Interactive have started sending out the Gothic 1 Remake demo to journalists and content creators, sparking in-depth comparisons with the classic game. A YouTube creator, Cycu1, posted a video that meticulously showcases the side-by-side differences and similarities, focusing on the painstaking efforts to recreate the starting location.

A notable change in the demo is the protagonist, who is not the Nameless One but another prisoner from the Miners' Valley. The developers have taken great care to replicate all the iconic elements from the original game while enhancing the visuals to meet modern standards. In related news, THQ Nordic has announced that a free demo of the Gothic 1 Remake will be available on February 24. This demo will feature Niras' prologue, crafted with the cutting-edge Unreal Engine 5.

It's worth noting that this demo will stand alone and not be included in the main game. It's designed to give players a taste of the world, mechanics, and atmosphere of the remake. In the demo, players will step into the shoes of Niras, a convict exiled to the Colony, and explore the environment at their leisure. Set before the events of Gothic 1, this prequel offers a deeper understanding of the legendary journey of the Nameless Hero.
