Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced Edition's launch on Steam faced notable backlash from gamers, with widespread criticism targeting technical glitches and problematic GTA Online progress transfers.

Player dissatisfaction manifested in overwhelmingly negative reviews, temporarily making GTA 5 Enhanced Rockstar's worst-rated Steam title.

While the rating eventually climbed to 50.59%, it remains Rockstar's second-lowest Steam score - barely outperforming L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files (49.63%). This disappointing reception places GTA 5 Enhanced in a precarious spot among Rockstar's releases, illustrating developers' challenges with remastered editions.
