New leaks suggest Phainon, an upcoming character in Honkai: Star Rail's Amphoreus arc, might exist in two forms: a playable character and an Elite boss. This dual-form concept isn't unprecedented in the game; characters like Argenti and Kafka already feature in both playable and boss capacities, albeit with the same model. However, another example, Sunday, showcases a complete transformation between his playable and boss forms. The upcoming Version 3.0 update introduces Amphoreus, the Eternal Land, and the Crysos Heirs, with Phainon playing a significant role.

Honkai: Star Rail, part of HoYoverse's multiverse, features several counterparts to Honkai Impact 3rd characters, known as Expys. While some retain their names (Seele, Bronya), others (like Luocha) only share visual similarities. Phainon's striking resemblance to Kevin Kaslana from Honkai Impact 3rd has fueled speculation about a connection. The Amphoreus trailer further hints at this, referencing Phainon's "grand mission of deliverance," mirroring Kevin Kaslana's codename.

While Phainon's playability remains a rumor, Aglaea, another Crysos Heir, is confirmed as a 5-star Remembrance unit debuting in Version 3.0 alongside Herta. The exciting Amphoreus chapter launches in January 2025.
