In a recent ScreenRant interview promoting Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (where he and Reeves reunite as Knuckles and Shadow, respectively), Idris Elba expressed his enthusiasm for a Cyberpunk 2077 live-action adaptation featuring himself and Keanu Reeves. His reaction to the idea? "Oh, man, that's a great question. I think if any film could do a live-action rendition, it could be [Cyberpunk 2077], and I think his character and my character together would be, ‘Whoa.’ So, let's speak that into existence."

Reeves, of course, portrayed the iconic Johnny Silverhand, while Elba played Solomon Reed in the Phantom Liberty DLC. This isn't just wishful thinking; Variety reported in October 2023 that a live-action Cyberpunk 2077 project is underway, with CD Projekt Red partnering with Anonymous Content. While details are scarce, the success of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and the Witcher live-action series suggests a Cyberpunk 2077 adaptation is highly feasible.

Expanding the Cyberpunk Universe

A prequel manga to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, titled Cyberpunk: Edgerunners MADNESS, has launched, focusing on Rebecca and Pilar before joining Maine's crew.
