Indus picks up five million downloads and concludes first international playtest in Manila
Just two months post-launch, Indus Battle Royale, the proudly made-in-India shooter, has already surpassed five million downloads on Android and over 100,000 on iOS. This achievement comes on the heels of winning the prestigious Google Play's Best Made in India Game 2024 award and a successful international playtest held in Manila. These milestones showcase the game's growing popularity and the ambitious vision of its developer, SuperGaming.
SuperGaming is not stopping at just expanding the player base. They're setting their sights on making Indus the flagship title for Indian gaming, positioning it ahead of other notable contenders like FAU-G: Domination. The recent international playtest at the YGG Play Summit in Manila allowed local esports stars to experience the game firsthand, adding to the buzz around Indus.
Adding to their list of initiatives, SuperGaming has kicked off the Clutch India Movement, a significant push into the world of esports. The movement began with the Indus International Tournament, which started in October and is set to wrap up in February 2025. With an impressive prize pool of INR 2.5 crores (approximately $31k), the tournament is drawing significant attention and participation.

Big Milestone, But More to Come
While reaching over five million downloads is a commendable feat, Indus is still working towards the ten million pre-registrations it initially garnered. It's worth noting, however, that pre-registration numbers often don't fully convert to actual downloads. The lower number of iOS downloads suggests there's still work to be done in capturing that segment of the Indian market.
Despite these challenges, SuperGaming's rapid moves to conduct international playtests and launch an esports tournament signal their grand aspirations for Indus. The game is poised for further development and growth, aiming to solidify its place in the global gaming arena.
